Fake tokens that copy famous names

Anyone can create a token called USDT. How clones and look-alike characters fool buyers.

Names are not unique

A token's name and symbol are just text chosen by its creator. Scammers create 'USDT', 'CAKE' or a trending meme name and add a small pool so it shows up in searches.

Some go further and use look-alike characters from other alphabets (for example a Cyrillic 'Т' instead of a Latin 'T'), so the symbol looks identical.

Always check the contract address

The only identity of a token is its contract address. Get it from the project's official site or a trusted list, never from a chat message.

RugWard compares every scanned token with major and listed tokens, folds look-alike characters, and flags impersonations as DANGER. Safe Swap refuses to buy them.
