Buy/sell taxes and owner powers
A 5% tax today can be 99% tomorrow if the owner can change it. What to look for.

Taxes
Many BNB Chain tokens take a percentage of every buy or sell. A small fixed tax is a design choice; a tax the owner can change at any time is a risk, because it can be raised until selling is pointless.
RugWard measures the real buy and sell tax in its simulation instead of trusting what the contract claims, and flags sell taxes of 50% or more as DANGER.
Owner powers
Watch for functions that let the owner mint new tokens, pause trading, blacklist wallets, set maximum transaction sizes, or change fees. Each one can be used against buyers.
Renounced ownership removes these powers only if the contract has no other admin role or upgradeable proxy. RugWard reports the owner, whether it is renounced, and proxy upgrades.
