Rug pulls: how liquidity disappears
Why unlocked liquidity, mint functions and big team wallets let a project vanish with buyers' money.

What liquidity is
To trade on PancakeSwap, someone deposits the token and BNB (or a stablecoin) into a pool and receives LP tokens as a receipt. Whoever holds the LP tokens can withdraw the pool at any time.
A 'rug pull' is when the creator withdraws that pool (or dumps a huge hidden balance into it). The price collapses and buyers are left with tokens nobody can buy.
Locks and burns
LP tokens sent to a dead address are burned: nobody can withdraw that liquidity again. LP tokens placed in a locker contract (for example PinkLock or UNCX) can only be withdrawn after the unlock date.
A lock protects only until it ends. RugWard reads the real unlock dates from the locker contracts, warns when a lock ends within 30 days, flags expired locks as unlocked, and alerts when locked liquidity is withdrawn.
Other rug paths
Mint functions let the owner create new tokens and sell them. A proxy contract can be upgraded to new code. A team wallet holding a large share of supply can dump at any time.
RugWard reports owner powers (mint, pause, blacklist, fee changes), proxies, holder concentration and liquidity locks in every scan.
